Evert Bopp has been working in the ICT industry since 1996. In 2010, following a devastating earthquake in Haiti, he founded an NGO called “Haiti Connect” with as its mission providing wireless internet access to the affected communities in Haiti as well as to responding NGO’s.

Following 2,5 years and 30+ successful projects in Haiti the organisation expanded globally and was renamed “Disaster Tech Lab”. Since then it has become one of the leading, independent providers of digital communications and ICT solutions in disaster zones and humanitarian aid responses across the globe.

Evert Bopp has led the organisation in it’s growth and has consistently striven to find and meet new technological challenges. Evert has been hands on involved in every deployment from Haiti, the USA, Nepal, Philippines, Vanuatu, Fiji, Ecuador and many other countries. He has worked together with FEMA, UNHCR, Red Cross, WHO, Team Rubicon and many, many other organisations providing them with the digital communications and digital tools to make their work more efficient.

In addition to his work with Disaster Tech Lab he has also been part of the FEMA Innovation Team, Geeks without bounds, Flood Team Europe and a number of other technology projects in the disaster response and humanitarian aid sector. He also received a DaVinci award , a certificate of recognition by FEMA during a ceremony in the White House and the 2016 “Better Satellite World Humanitarian Award” as well as a number of other awards.
